La Voix season 5

I am thrilled to be a participant on La Voix season 5 (The Voice Canada). Yesterday was the season premiere. The level of talent this season is high! For my audition, I chose to perform the 60’s classic, Tainted love. A version which honoured the original version by Gloria Jones but had it’s own unique stylings. The fact that 3/4 coaches turned for me was a blessing. But having Pierre Lapointe as a coach is a dream come true! He is an artist I hold in high regard. Lastly, I have to thank my family, friends and fans who continue to support me in all my creative endeavours. This one is bound to be crazy ride!

Ms.Holmes’ sold out Vancouver show

Ms.Holmes’ sold out Vancouver show with Desirée Dawson was the highlight of last years west coast tour. This was the first time Vancouver had shown us so much love. This year Desirée holds the title of CBC Searchlight contest winner and currently has a song in the Billboard charts listen.

Ghomeshi & A New Song

I am sharing a demo of a new song in light of Jian Ghomeshi’s sexual assault charges being dropped. The song “Askin’ for it” addresses tip-of-the-iceberg injustices that we have been experiencing since forever. My heart goes out to the women who testified in the Gohmeshi trial, to anyone who has ever put their life on the line by confronting their attacker, and all the survivors.

Montreal Loft Concert

After 8 amazing years, and an immense amount of support from the people and the city of Montreal, I wanted to have a thank you concert – a Montreal loft concert. The goal was to invite people to a $5 show in a unique and intimate environment. My fans who supported the Kickstarter campaign from last year had free access. I took a few chances with this concert, which was originally scheduled for last November. That concert took place this past Friday, March 11th. It took place in a loft space in Montreal’s well-loved neighborhood, The Mile End. That concert had one of the best audiences I have ever had the pleasure of playing for. I was saying “thank you” and the audience said it right back. It was an overwhelming feeling and a powerful reminder that taking chances truly is the key to a rich life.
